Here are some of my ideas for our big project that relate to our topic classroom kitchen/catering:
Safety in the kitchen
Math because you deal with measurements when cooking
Social studies or cultures because of the different foods and recipes from around the world
Language arts: recipes and menus
I hope this is what we are supposed to be doing because I'm still a little confused! I tried researching our topic a bit! Hope this helps!
Here are my ideas:
ReplyDelete1. Thanksgiving dinner (parents and community can come in)
2. The multicultural eatery (have around the world recipes, celebrate diversity)
3. Healthy nutrition (creating healthy food meals or how to cook healthier recipes for the kids to take home)
4. Go Green ( we learn how to reuse supplies in the kitchen, use plastic reusable plates, cups etc. instead of paper. Save the biodegradable materials (banana peels) during breakfast and lunch for other areas of the school such as the garden. Teaches the kids to reuse, reduce and recycle.
5. Creating a restaurant (dine-in)
Hey, I really like the idea about math and measuring. I was also thinking about using recipes from other countries.
