Hey guys! I was just wondering what we should do for our final website and how we should go about putting it together!! Also, what do we each want to do for our last lesson plan/podcast/movie? I was thinking about doing a lesson on measurements.  Let me know what you guys think?

Lesson Plan 2

Hey guys I was just seeing what everyone wants to do for our lesson plan 2 which involves data. I was thinking we could do something with math. I was thinking about doing measurements. Maybe someone could do prices or something along that line? Let me know what you guys think!

Here is a map that we have created for our virtual pen pals at Costa del Sol Elementary School in Madrid, Spain. They will be able to see where we are located in the United States. They will also be able to see the major roads and landforms that surround us, included the beautiful lakes that surround Michigan. Our third grade class, at Greenwood Elementary School, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, will have virtual penpals with third graders at Costa del Sol Elementary School in Madrid, Spain during our Bake Sale project unit. Having pen pals will allow the students to get information on what bake sales are like in Spain. They will have the opportunity to ask questions in order to compare the similarities and difference when it comes to having a school bake sale.

Digital Story

I wanted to let you guys know that I will be using my first lesson to help me create my digital story. My movie will be used as an introduction to my lesson plan as the specific concept is "How to Organize, Plan and Run a Bake Sale." My digital story will be called Bake Sale 101 and it will be non-fiction.

Hey!! I was just wondering how we should break up what lessons each of us should do.  I will do mathematics if that is okay and deal with prices and measurement.  Is that what it means by using a concept within our project?? Let me know what you think! :)

Ideas for topic

Here are some of my ideas for our big project that relate to our topic classroom kitchen/catering: Safety in the kitchen Math because you deal with measurements when cooking Social studies or cultures because of the different foods and recipes from around the world Language arts: recipes and menus I hope this is what we are supposed to be doing because I'm still a little confused! I tried researching our topic a bit! Hope this helps!

I am very excited to work with both of you this semester! Let me know if you guys have any ideas of how we should split up the work.  Don't be shy! :)

I like getting assignments done in advance, especially this semester as I will be going on vacation for a couple of days. I just want to give you guys a heads up. I will be going on vacation June 1st- 6th. However, I will be logging in several times on E-learning and keeping in touch with you guys through this blog each day while on vacation, however it will be difficult for me to fully contribute to the assignments due during those days. Looking ahead at the schedule and from my understanding we will have 2 (maybe 3) groups projects due. Assignment VII (counting as 2 assignments): Part A- Virtual PenPals Write Up and Part B- Google Map. I am not 100% sure if the Digital Story assignment is an individual project or group project. I will have to contact our professor.

I would love it if you guys can work with me to get these assignments done a bit ahead of time so that I don't have to stress about it a whole lot while on vacation. And also, so I can contribute equally to our projects.
